Fredericksburg Christmas Parade

Mom made us dress up in red coats with lights for the Chsristmas parade. At least she did not make us wear Santa hats or reindeer antlers. It was very majical since it was snowing
VAGA is the greyhound Adopton group we belong to.
There are pics before the parade and the last one is marching in the parade. Mom always manages to find those kodak moments.

Rockbridge Winery

More grape vines to run thru. The winer had a puppy that we could play with. What fun. While Mom sampled wine, we ran and ran.

One last winery before we make it home. We are running out of space in the car for us and the wine. Pretty soon, Mom is going to have to make a choice, us or wine. We Wonder??????

Shennendoah Winery

Of Course, we had to hit another winery before we made it home.

Humpback Bridge

Humpback Bridge - one of 6 covered bridges still left in Virginia. This is pretty neat. The story behind covered bridges is that they were a great place for "courting" It was a good place to stop horse and buggy for a snuggle on a cool evening.

If you are quiet, one can hear the klippty klop of horse going across the bridge.

Virginia

We are getting closer to home. We are back in the home state of Virginia. It does feel good.

New River

Overlooking the New River in Southern West Virginia. The New River is the second oldest river in the world next to the Nile. Was named the New River for when explores first saw it, the river was not mentioned on any map so it was "NEW" to them. Beautiful overlook.

West Virginia

We are in West Virginia heading for home. We have had loads of fun but will be good to be back to our own bed in Virginia.

Kentucky winery

Of course, we had to visit a Kentucky Winery. Very good. There was an enclosed area among the grapes where we got to run. Yeah. Mom has decided that we should visit a winery in every state. So far we on this trip we have hit 6 wineries. Only 44 more state wineries to go.

Bufallo Trace Distillery

Barells of Bourbon ____________With the mascot of Buffalo Trace

Kentucky is known for horses and bourbon, so of course we had to take a tour of a distillary. It was quite interesting. Even thought we don't like bourbon, Mom had to have a taste and she has decided to stick with wine. Bufallo Trace is located on the crosssroads of where the buffalo would travel to water and grass. This distillary was one of 4 to continue to operate even during prohibition. It was granted a special license to continue to make bourbon for medicinal purposes, and doctors would write prescriptons for bourbon use.

Illinois-Indiana

We have sped thru Illinois and Indiana. On the way home so ....
These 2 signs are located across the street from one another. One minute we are in Illinois and the next minute we are in Indiana. As you can tell we are in a small town. Indiana in town and Illinois in a field.
